With tremendous house work, I have finally managed to put my birthday gift, Moon Fingerboard to our room.
I got the thickest plywood from Home Depot and spray painted. Then screwed the wood with #10 2 and half inch screws, I wanted to do with 3 inches but it was tooooo tough to go through. Then, on this plywood, I have mounted the fingerboard.
Although the fingerboard's holds look thick enough, it was very aggressive!!! I can barely pull up on inside holds. Jug at the top is not that juggy either.... Anyway I will try to get on it as much as possible.
Taka and I went to Long Island mainly for winery but since we go that far, I wanted to go check out East Marion boulder.
Many of the info on the website were hard to understand but I managed to go there. There was only one rock; I think it is sharp granite boulder. Half side of boulder is right next to the ocean, so I could not touch the harder problems. So instead I tried one in the back, Fisherman's Friend SD V6. Some people say it is V7 but I think it is around V6 because the time length that took me to finish problem was not too long.
The problem was great but too hot with no friction at all, lol. The problem is overhang, consisting of slopey holds and big cripmers. Powerful problem. Any way, see the vid below:)
After East Marion beach boulder, we headed to winery in Long Island. We went to 4 winery. Our best were the first 2, Bedell and Lenz. They had great wines and we bought back wines from them.
Palmer was too crowded. We wanted a quiet place to have wine tasting. Peconic Bay, we were just to fatigue, lol.
I don't know the quality of wine very well but I was able to taste the difference from what we drink, which is usually Trader Joe's wine...
We would definitely want to go back to visit some other winery.
1. Bedell Cellars
2. The Lenz Winery
3. Palmer Vinyard
4. Peconic Bay Winery
We went out to Pawtuckaway for bouldering. Since the place is in New Hampshire and takes about 5 hours or more driving we decided to stay over for 2 nights, Friday night to Sunday morning.
Friday was just driving but we had great dinner and beer at T-Bones Great American Eatery. Real nice thing about this place was they got their own beer T-Bones Ale, which was good amber taste but not too dark.
Saturday, we went out to Ptuck but we drove and wandered in the woods. It was terrible pebbly road. I was able to find some local picnic climber and asked how to get there finally. There were thousands of rocks, heaven:)
I went through many **** marked problems. I personally like Ride The Lightning V6****, the grade was fair, high ball, bad mantle, great holds. Overlooked V4**** was funny start problem, I have to be upside down. Fido V5*** had good gymnastic moves in the beginning but bad crimps at the top making you fear to the height.
Sunday, we had rain... We decided to go back to NJ... Another long trip back.
